Dr. Anun Vongthongsri သည် အမေရိကန်ပြည်ထောင်စု၊ မစ်ဇူရီပြည်နယ်၊ စိန့်လူးဝစ်မြို့ရှိ Washington University School of Medicine ၏ Washington University Eye Center တွင် မျက်ကြည်လွှာ၊ မျက်စိရောဂါများနှင့် အလင်းယိုင်ခြင်းဆိုင်ရာမျက်စိခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှု (Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery) ကို လက်တွေ့လေ့လာခွင့် (Clinical Fellowship) ရရှိခဲ့သော ထိုင်းနှင့် အရှေ့တောင်အာရှမှ ပထမဆုံး မျက်စိအထူးကုဆရာဝန် တစ်ဦးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အဆိုပါသင်တန်းအတွင်း Excimer လေဆာအသုံးပြု၍ PRK နှင့် LASIK မျက်စိခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှုများဆိုင်ရာ လက်တွေ့လေ့လာမှုများစွာပါဝင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

အလင်းယိုင်ခြင်းဆိုင်ရာ မျက်စိခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှုနှင့်ပတ်သတ်သော လေ့ကျင့်သင်ကြားမှု အတွေ့အကြုံများစွာ ရရှိပြီးတဲ့နောက်မှာ Ramathibodi ဆေးရုံ ဆေးတက္ကသိုလ်၏ မျက်ကြည်လွှာနှင့် အလင်းယိုင်ခြင်းဆိုင်ရာမျက်စိခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှုဌာနတွင် သင်ကြားရေးနည်းပြအဖြစ် ဖိတ်ခေါ်ခြင်းခံခဲ့ရပြီး မကြာမီမှာပဲ Dr. Anun Vongthongsri သည် ၂၀၀၁ ခုနှစ်တွင် ဌာန၏ ဒါရိုက်တာ အဖြစ်တာဝန်ပေးအပ်ခြင်းခံခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ အလင်းယိုင်ခြင်းဆိုင်ရာမျက်စိခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှု နယ်ပယ်တွင် ပထမဆုံးထိုင်းလူမျိုးဆရာဝန်တဦးအဖြစ် အသိအမှတ်ပြုခြင်းခံခဲ့ရသော Dr. Anun Vongthongsri သည် Refractive Surgery လောကတွင်လည်း ရှေ့ဆောင်လမ်းပြအဖြစ် အသိအမှတ်ပြုခံရသူဖြစ်သည်။ LASIK နှင့် မျက်စိလေဆာခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှုများစွာကို နှစ်ပေါင်း (၃၀) ကျော်ကြာ လက်တွေ့လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့သော အတွေ့အကြုံရှိသူဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ 

ဒါ့အပြင် Cornea and Refractive Surgery Specialization Fellowship Program ၏ ဒါရိုက်တာအဖြစ်လည်း တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်ပြီး၊ ထိုင်းလူမျိုးမျက်စိအထူးကုဆရာဝန်များစွာကို ခွဲစိတ်ကုသမှုပညာရှင်များဖြစ်လာစေရန် လေ့ကျင့်သင်ကြားပေးခဲ့သူဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
