Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anun Vongthongsri, M.D.

Dr. Anun Vongthongsri graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn Hospital School of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand in 1990 with second degree honor. Then he decided to do the fellowship in Ophthalmology at Prince of Songkla University for 3 years. After that he was elected to get a position and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Ramathibodi Hospital School of Medicine, Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Vongthongsri was the first Thai and South East Asia Ophthalmologist to be elected as a clinical fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Washington University Eye Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. In his fellowship he has involved in many clinical studies regarding PRK and Lasik Surgery using Excimer Laser.
After being trained and experienced in refractive surgery, he was invited to be the instructor in Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service, Ramathibodi Hospital School of Medicine. Not long after joining the faculty, Dr Vongthongsri was asked from the department to serve as the Director of Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service at Ramathibodi Hospital School of Medicine since 2001. Dr. Vongthongsri, as the first Thai Doctor being certified in Refractive Surgery was very well recognized as the leader in refractive surgery area. He has experience in performing many thousands of refractive surgery procedures including Lasik and Surface Laser Surgery. In addition, he has served as the Director of fellowship program for Cornea and Refractive Surgery and has extensive experience in training many Thai Ophthalmologists to be an expert in refractive surgery nowadays.
Dr. Vongthongsri is also one of the founders and Medical Director of Laser Vision. As being the leader in refractive surgery area he and his medical team are well recognized as the professional in this extremely special care field. Dr Vongthongsri and his team often participate the national meeting to share their experience, knowledge and the innovation with the refractive surgeons from around the world. Laservision International LASIK Center is regularly and one of the most visited Lasik centers by international ophthalmologists from South East Asia and around the world.
