SMILE Pro®

SMILE Pro®

SMILE Pro® | Laser Vision LASIK Centre, Bangkok Eye Hospital

SMILE Pro, an evolution of the ReLEx SMILE procedure, significantly reduces vision correction time to approximately 8 seconds per eye, enhancing patient comfort and minimizing surgical stress. This advancement is achieved through the utilization of the Carl Zeiss VisuMax 800 laser, which operates at a higher pulse frequency, enabling faster lenticule creation compared to its predecessor. Maintaining the flapless, small-incision technique, SMILE Pro offers eligible patients quicker recovery times and improved visual outcomes.

How SMILE Pro® Eye Surgery Works

Step 1: Creating the Lenticule

Using the latest-generation VisuMax® 800 femtosecond laser, ultra-thin lens-shaped layer of corneal tissue is created inside the cornea. This is performed without creating a flap, and less invasive than traditional LASIK.

Step 2: Removing the Lenticule

A micro-incision, typically just 2–4 mm, is made on the corneal surface. The surgeon removes the lenticule through this tiny opening—no flap, no stitches, and minimal disruption to the eye's natural structure.

Step 3: Reshaping the Cornea

Once the lenticule is removed, the cornea is reshaped, correcting the refractive errors and improving your natural vision.
